The Infinite Picnic

Sunday, 1 June 2025, 2 pm on,
Tiergarten, Berlin

WEATHER UPDATE (1 June, 10:35 am):
The most pessimistic of the three apps we’ve consulted now says that there will be 1–2 mm of rain between 5 and 6, and 2–5 mm of rain between 6 and 7. Come, and come early if possible!

WEATHER UPDATE (31 May, 2:30 pm):
It looks like there will be some rain tomorrow afternoon; different apps disagree as to how much and when exactly. The most optimistic, which is naturally the best one, now predicts that there will be only some rain between 3 and 4. All to say, the picnic is on, at least for the intrepid. We will be there from 1:30 on, looking for a good anchor point. If you do come, a plastic tarp or sheet to put over your blanket will go a long way toward making you forget the rain when it’s all over

Dear friends, friends of friends, friends of friends of friends, and on,

Please join us in Tiergarten on June 1 for our inaugural Infinite Picnic, a Ponzi scheme of sorts where we invite all our friends, you forward the invitation to all your friends and ask them to forward to theirs, and so on, ad infinitum.

All picnickers will be conjoined into one great chain of being; with this goal in mind, please bring a blanket so that we can be in one long (possibly undulating) line. Of course, bring food and drinks for yourselves—and a little extra for others if you feel like it.

We look forward to being with every single one of you!
