The Infinite Picnic is a social Ponzi scheme of sorts, where the organizer invites all their friends, asks them to forward the invitation to all their friends, who in turn forward it to theirs, and so on, ad infinitum.
In order to have all picnickers conjoined into one great chain of being, we resort to the simplest of all technologies: the picnic blanket, which can be laid down alongside another group’s blanket so that everyone is in one contiguous configuration, be it a simple line or some more complicated arrangement. Of course, picnickers should also bring food and drinks for themselves—and a little extra for others if they feel like it.
For this second installment of the Infinite Picnic, we are thrilled to announce that we are now international, with a London chapter joining us this year. Both picnics will start at the same exact moment in time, and there may even be some official communication between the two events on the day.
There is, as always, weather to consider. We will announce by 9 am CET on the morning of 7 June, under ‘recent posts’ on the left of this page, if we need to postpone.
